Laser Skin Resurfacing
At the Beverly Hills Medical Center of Kuwait, our world-class physicans are experts with resurfacing laser treatments. We have put together a team of the best dermatologists in the world, and they are beyond capable of improving the appearance of your face by selectively targeting the superficial layers of the skin that contain fine lines or wrinkles, scars, and hyperpigmentation.
Today, laser skin resurfacing is a very safe and common procedure that many people choose instead of more invasive surgical options. Fractional resurfacing laser treatments can be used to improve the following skin conditions:
- Pigmentation problems (especially brown pigment)
- Age spots
- Sun spots and sun damage
- Moderate to severe wrinkles
- Textural irregularities
- Lip lines
- Surgical scars
- Acne scars
- Skin laxity (sagging skin)
How Does Laser Skin Resurfacing Work?
First, our physicians will thoroughly clean your skin to ensure that all oils are removed. Once that is done, an antibiotic is applied to ensure that any bacteria that may be on your skin is removed. The next step will involve the use of a fractional laser, which creates thousands of tiny micro thermal zones deep into the skin that the skin will repair by pushing out the old, damaged skin and replace it with new, fresh skin. Short, high-intensity light emissions from the laser are used to remove layers of wrinkled and damaged skin. This is done by passing a beam of light over the skin to vaporize the outer most layers that are damaged or wrinkled.
Each treatment stimulates the regeneration of the deeper collagen and elastin tissue, while resurfacing roughly 20% of your skin’s surface. It triggers the body’s own natural healing process, accelerating the production of new collagen and healthy skin cells.
Benefits of Laser Skin Resurfacing
Laser skin resurfacing is much less invasive than other methods used to improve the appearance of your face. Other benefits of the procedure include, but are not limited to:
- Quicker recovery (little to no downtime)
- Smoother and fresher looking skin
- Improved tone and texture
- Fewer wrinkles around the eyes
- Reduced appearance of acne and surgical scars
Active/Deep FX
The Active/Deep FX laser resurfacing treatment is, as it sounds, a combination of Active FX and Deep FX. When used together, they offer a powerful full range of fractional resurfacing. The Deep FC offers a micro-ablative treatment that targets deeper wrinkles and acne scarring. Active FX, meanwhile, offers a large superficial spot treatment that targets sun damage, tone, and texture.
Fraxel Repair
This is a revolutionary and effective procedure that has been proven to successfully treat wrinkles, age spots, sun spots, sun-induced redness, scars, and irregularities of the skin.
Most patients only require one treatment, and the recovery time is significantly less than traditional laser treatments.
Fraxel Restore Dual
Fraxel Restore Dual is a non-ablative erbium fractional laser. The treatment option is excellent for improving brown spots and brown pigment in the skin, fine lines, scars and skin texture. It requires multiple treatments, but each with less downtime than the Fraxel Repair CO2.
Recovering from Laser Skin Resurfacing
You may experience swelling and mild discomfort after your laser skin resurfacing treatment, but please know that this is normal. Our knowledgeable team can successfully reduce the swelling by applying a cold pack directly to the treated area. Occasionally, in some instances, our team may use a bandage in order to protect the treated skin and keep it dry.
Visible results, and the point at which they occur, varies greatly. It does, quite frankly, depend on your individual circumstances and response to the treatment. But while the results vary, there are essentially two stages of results, immediate and progressive. Immediately after your first laser treatment, your skin will feel smoother, look brighter, and the tone will become more even. Your skin will then progressively improve over the next six months as you have more treatments, and as the deeper layers of skin continue to improve.
The results of the laser treatment are long lasting, but not permanent. The better your take care of your skin and protect it from the sun, the longer the results will last.
