IPL Photofacials
Coming Soon to Beverly Hills Medical Center – Kuwait!
As the population ages, ever-increasing numbers of people are interested in improving the appearance of their damaged skin. Thankfully, our expert team of dermatologists has a proven track record of using IPL technology to help restore the youthful appearance of your skin.
IPL technology improves the appearance of photo-aged skin, removes age spots and sun-induced freckles, most benign brown pigments, and redness caused by broken capillaries through a process called photo rejuvenation for face and body. Because the procedure requires minimal downtime and has a low risk of side effects, it is ideal for patients with active lifestyles who cannot afford to take an extensive break.
How Does IPL Photofacial Work?
This gentle, non-ablative treatment uses broad spectrum light to treat the face, chest, neck and hands. A broad spectrum of light is transmitted through a small, smooth, transparent hand piece which is gently placed over the skin. Cut-off filters in the hand piece change the wavelength range, allowing it to be optimized for different applications and skin types. The light penetrates the tissue and is absorbed by either the blood when treating vascular lesions, or the melanin when treating pigmented lesions. The body’s natural processes then removes the injured tissue, in turn giving the skin a more even and youthful appearance.
IPL skin treatments have been proven to successfully treat a variety of skin conditions, including but not limited to:
- Spider veins
- Skin texture
- Blood vessels
- Hyperpigmentation
- Birthmarks
- Rosacea
- Freckles
- Sun spots
- Brown spots
- Age spots
Benefits of IPL Photofacials
IPL treatments are great for treating a variety of skin conditions. The benefits include removal of broken capillaries on the face or around the nose, reduction of redness from rosacea, and minimal downtime.
After IPL Photofacial Treatment
This treatment option has a strong record for safety, although most patients will experience a few mild side effects for a few hours following surgery, such as swelling, redness, or general discomfort.
There is practically no recovery time after an IPL photofacial treatment, and most patients return to normal activities the day of surgery. This obviously makes it a great treatment option for people who do not want a lot of downtime.
The results of IPL are generally long lasting. To improve your chances of lasting results, our physicians will discuss a proper skin care regimen with you. The better you take care of your skin, the longer your IPL results will last.
