Femto-LASIK Eye Surgery

Femto-LASIK (bladeless) is a type of refractive eye surgery very similar to LASIK which creates a corneal flap using a femtosecond lasermicrokeratome instead of a mechanical microkeratome (steel blade). LASIK and Femto-LASIK’s main difference lies with the method of how the corneal flap is made. In addition, Femto-LASIK can be surgically used for monovision which enhances one’s ability to view objects both near and distant for people with presbyopia.

LASIK Eye Surgery

LASIK (“Laser Assisted In Situ Keratomileusis”) is a refractive surgery used to correct vision problems. It is one of the most popular vision correction surgeries in the world, effectively and safely improving the vision of many people. LASIK is a refractive procedure done in office to treat conditions such as farsightedness, nearsightedness, and astigmatism. Our highly skilled surgeons take advantage of using the femtosecond laser which is a blade-free method. Bladeless LASIK involves two steps. First, our expert ophthalmologists access the deep layers in the cornea’s tissue. Secondly, the cornea is reshaped with a laser. Recovery for LASIK lasts for about a month after your procedure giving you lifelong results.
